Jennifer (Jenna) Anne McDermott, 46, of Oswego, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born in Lake Forest, IL to John William and (Nancy Geiger) Kolb III, and would later marry her beloved husband, Timothy McDermott. Jenna loved being a mother, and took great pride in being a wife and daughter. She loved her family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. She particularly cherished her time spent with them during her favorite season – summer. She loved taking walks and gardening, and spending quiet nights on the patio, often asking Tim to spend a few moments just sitting with her. She took great pride in her daughter's academic achievement and creativity. Jenna loved to cheer on both Aleigh and Caitlin during their dance performances. She was also dedicated to being an educator and making a difference in the lives of her students. Jennifer is survived by her husband, Timothy McDermott, and their two beloved children, Alexis and Caitlin. Also surviving are her mother, Nany Geiger, and her aunts and uncles Barbara Geiger, Kenneth (Donna) Geiger, and Daniel (Maryanne) Kolb. She is preceded in death by her father, John William Kolb III, her maternal grandparents Eugene and Margaret Geiger, and her paternal grandparents John W. and Lucille Kolb. Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Community Christian Church, 1635 Emerson Lane, Naperville, IL 60540.
