IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey Lorin
Hoch
February 5, 1959 – January 11, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Lorin Hoch of Oswego, IL, who was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Jeffrey, was born on February 5, 1959, in Aurora, Illinois, left this world on January 11, 2025, in Oswego, Illinois, at his home.
A roofing contractor, who owned his own business, Oswego Roofing, for 42 years. Jeffrey was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft by always hand nailing his jobs. He poured his heart into every job and his work had a reputation of reliability and integrity. Outside of his work, Jeffrey was a true woodsman who found solace in nature. He loved hunting and fishing, often sharing those quiet moments with loved ones. In addition to his outdoor passions, he was also an artist at heart, enjoying painting and drawing, which allowed him to express his creativity and reflect on the beauty around him.
Jeffrey's life was rich with experiences, and he cherished the simple joys, whether it was spending time outdoors, creating art, or sharing laughter with family and friends. His warm spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Jeffrey was the cherished husband of Terry Hoch for 11 wonderful years. Their bond was a testament to love, support, and companionship that many admired. He was a devoted father to his two children: Jennifer (Jason) Strode, Jason (Missy) Hoch, and two step-children Lisa (Jay Heffron) Brooker, and Adam (Lindsey) Brooker. Jeffrey's legacy continues through his grandchildren, who will forever hold him in their hearts: Kylie, Mackenzie, Josh, Danny, Aislinn, Finn Strode, Parker, Grayson, Spencer, Hudson Hoch, and Austin, Cole, and Maddie Brooker. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Jeanne (Ken) Hester, and a host of nieces and nephews: Gail (Ellis) Maldonado, Katie (Andrew) Menzl, Greg (Kelley) Chrisse, and Ryan (Sarah) Hoch. Jeffrey was proud of his family and also cherished the time spent with his several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jeffrey was predeceased by his parents, James and Janis Hoch, and his brother, James "Jim" Hoch. He also mourned the loss of his nephews, Christopher and Jimmy Hoch. These losses shaped Jeffrey into the compassionate and understanding man he was, always ready to lend an ear or offer a helping hand.
As we say goodbye to Jeffrey Lorin Hoch, we remember a man who loved fiercely, laughed generously, and lived with an unwavering spirit. He will be profoundly missed, yet his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
