Janith Highley, 89 years of age, passed away on Sunday, February 4th, 2024 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. She was born March 6th, 1934 in Aurora, IL to the late James and Clarissa Greshaw.

Janith was the youngest of four children and enjoyed growing up with her siblings on their family farm in Na Au Say Township. Janith married Neil Highley in 1954 and four daughters were born from this union.

Janith loved spending time with her family. Challenging her brain by working on crosswords, sudoku, puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. Everyone knew Janith for her delicious baking skills. She was happiest when everyone had a full stomach. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always thinking of others first. To know her was to love her.

Janith is survived by her 4 daughters Kathy Ames (Nick Stepanovsky), Karen (Jim) Phelps, Jennifer (Bob) Butcher, and Amy (Jim) Hambly; 9 grandchildren Josh (Tracy) Ames, Carly Ames, Troy (Randi) Titzel, Kristi (Jason) Sheffield, Ashley Butcher, Brett Butcher, Kirk (Nicole) Butcher, Jenna (Kyle) Boltz, and Danielle Hambly (Evan Mandrek); 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Neil, sisters Anna McGowan-Mehlmann and Eileen Ward, brother Robert Greshaw and beloved pet Crystal.

There will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held on February 7, 2024. Arrangements are entrusted to the Dunn Family Funeral Home, 1801 S. Douglas Rd. Oswego, IL.
