James M. "Jim" Ramey, Jr, age 68, of Oswego, IL passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL.

He was born in Aurora, IL, the son of the late James M. and Melva nee Wilkinson Ramey, Sr.

Jim graduated from Oswego High School, class of 1973. Following school, Jim wore many hats. He was a firefighter in Oswego from 1975-2005, worked at Olson Shell, Oswego Township Highway Department in 1978, owned Ramey Towing from 1980-1997, mechanic for Oswego School District 308, and worked for the Village of Oswego Public Works retiring in 2014. He was sexton of the Oswego Township cemeteries, helped with Bristol Township with snow plowing, and loved to not only farm and manage his cattle, but help on the neighbors' farms as well.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Sandy nee Pierce, children Matthew (Jessica) Ramey, Michelle Neale, grandchildren DJ (Janie) Ramey. Dustin (Natalia) Ramey, Mya Ramey. Jake Ramey, Logan Neale, Easton Neale, Dakota Neale, great-grandson Xavier Ramey, siblings Ron (Lisa) Ramey, Dan Ramey and David (April) Ramey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
