James (Jim) Plocher (Ploch) 88, of Montgomery, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

He was born on August 21, 1935 in Aurora, IL at the old Copley hospital, now Bardwell Residences, where he lived when he passed.

Jim was a beloved husband of 67 years, a pops, a gramps and a great gramps, a loyal friend to all, a lover of pooches and an avid golfer.He loved people, making friends with everyone he met. He had a daily routine which included stopping in to chew the fat with Lisa the banker and John the worker at 7-11. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling to where the golf ball might give him a hole in one, and he enjoyed many fun trips with his friends. In his later years, he still loved keeping in contact with his many friends, often meeting up with them for coffee or calling them on the phone.Jim worked 35 years at Northern Illinois Gas. Then, upon retirement, he worked for Phillips Park Golf Course and Napa. He enjoyed working after retirement, as it gave him a chance to talk to all of his friends, and EVERYONE was his friend.Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia "Pat" Plocher, his daughter, Shari, his parents, his brother, Don, his grandson James "Jimmy" Plocher and his granddaughter Kimberley (Alfter) Warling.

He is survived by his son Ron (Kelly) Plocher, granddaughter Stephanie (Erik) Steinbrecher, grandson Joe (Katie) Plocher and 12 great grandchildren.

When Jim lost his sweetheart, Pat, he asked that we wait to honor her life, that they might go together. In honoring that request, the family will welcome friends and neighbors to celebrate the lives of Jim and Pat Plocher on Tuesday, December 19th from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The family will receive guests until service begins at 5:30 p.m.at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 S.
