James E. Mohn, "Jim", 87 of Montgomery, IL passed away on November 29, 2025, at home with his loving wife by his side. Jim was born in Peoria, IL September 25, 1938, the son of Chet and Betty nee Balsinger Mohn. He graduated from Shabbona High School in 1956. Jim served in the Army from 1961 to 1963. On April 30. 1983 he married Rita nee Coldwater Mohn in Aurora, IL.

Jim was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, White Sox, Blackhawks and Aurora Home Savings Fast Pitch softball team. Jim and Rita enjoyed going to the Home Savings games, Sox games, and the rally in Chicago when the Sox won the World Series in 2005. Jim loved a good beer, wine, and ice cream.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, of 42 years, Rita, brothers-in-law John Coldwater, of Elwood, IL., and Frank (Cresenciana) Coldwater of Arizona, sister-in-law Barbara Connelly of De Pere, Wisconsin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary Mohn of Missouri, and Ron Mohn of Tennessee, sister-in-laws Wanda Mohn of Tennessee, Evyon Coldwater of Loveland, Colorado, Sharon Coldwater of Elwood, Illinois, and Patty Coldwater of Loveland, Colorado.
