James C. "Jim" Loomis, 65, of Plano, IL, passed away August 16, 2024, from brain cancer.

He was born on November 3, 1958, in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Richard and Barbara (Munson) Loomis. Jim graduated from Yorkville High School in 1976 and was employed by Richards-Wilcox in Aurora for over 45 years. He was a member of Ironworker Shop Local #853 and Lincoln Highway Association. He enjoyed motorcycle and bicycle riding, exploring state parks, working in his yard, going to auto and farm equipment shows, nature and history.

Jim is survived by his sisters, Ann (Mark) Cotter of Naperville, Jane DeMont of Somonauk, brother, David Loomis of Sandwich, nephew, Ryan Cotter of Chicago, and eight cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation for Jim will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Interment will follow at Pearce Cemetery, Oswego, IL.
