IAN OLDENBURG April 4, 2001 - November 27, 2019 Ian Michael Henry Oldenburg, 18, of Newark passed Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Loyola University Medical Center. Ian was born April 4, 2001 in Joliet and was a Newark Community High School graduate (class of 2019) and was a 4-year honor roll student. Ian played varsity baseball at Newark Community High School and was attending Aurora University double majoring in Marketing and Communications. He enjoyed creating and editing YouTube video gaming content and had thousands of subscribers. Skateboarding, hanging out with his friends, and watching sports were just a few of the things you could find him doing. He is survived by his parents; Mark Charles Oldenburg and Jill Renee Oldenburg (nee Husar) of Newark; his two sisters: Kelsey Nichole (Tim) Collins (nee Oldenburg) of Hinckley, Emily Ann Oldenburg of Newark; his maternal grandmother Carolyn Sue Husar of Sandwich, and paternal grandmother Frances Oldenburg of Woodridge, IL Preceded in death by; maternal grandfather Michael Theodore Husar and paternal grandfather Charles Henry Oldenburg. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3rd at the Newark Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 101 E. Liberty St. Newark. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Mike Stoner officiating at the Newark Lutheran Church. Pallbearers: Dylan Tuttle, Dustin Wilkinson, Tim Collins, Ian Cerney, Sean Gavin, Ryan Gavin, Mike Husar, Charles Runnels Memorials may be directed to Mark and Jill Oldenburg in order to establish a scholarship in memory of Ian.
