Howard William (Bill) Maxim, age 95, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Tiller's Nursing Home in Oswego, IL. He was born October 3, 1919in Des Moines, IA, the son of John and Louise nee Walker Maxim. Bill proudly served his country during World War II in the 92nd Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force. He was a life member of the VFW Post #7452, the 92nd NSAAF Memorial Association and the 8th Air Force Historical Society. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ruth S. Maxim of Oswego, IL, daughters Lynn Maxim of Milwaukee, WI, Nancy (Rand) Taylor of Oswego, IL, grandchildren Leah (Matt) Duvall of Milwaukee, WI, Randi Taylor of Oswego, IL, brother and sister-in-law Art & Peg DeVol of Oswego, IL, sister-in-law Betty DeClue of Joliet, IL, son-in-law Ed Aister of Yorkville, IL, nephew Dave (Purva) DeVol of Aurora, IL, niece Carol (Katy) Fox-DeVol of Los Angeles, CA, great-nephews Lucas and Jacob DeVol of Yorkville, IL, Zachary Fox-DeVol of Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Diane Aister and a grandson Austin Fox. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Burial will take place at a future date.
