Homer W Durand, age 91, of Aurora, IL formerly of Oswego, IL died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, IL. He was born July 8, 1926 in Nokomis, IL the son of the late Norman and Bulla nee Osborn Durand.
He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, IL.
He was most proud of his being a deputy sheriff for the Kendall County Sheriff's Department from 1954 to 1970. During that time he along with his routine duties was probably the first true crime scene photographer developing new procedures used to this date. In 1971 he moved to the Orlando, FL were he worked in security in a department store and Walt Disney World in the accounts office. In 1979 he returned to the Aurora, IL working at Paramount Arts Centre and Jennings Terrace.
He is survived by his daughter Judy (John) Eggenberger of Yorkville, IL, two granddaughters Heather (Andrew) Dawson of Mason City, IA, Heidi (Bobby) Brackett of Montgomery, IL, two great grandchildren Amber VanMeter and Robby Brackett, IV. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Durand.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 9:30 AM until the funeral service at 10:30 AM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL.
