Lois K. Hilliard, age 91 years of Oswego, IL died Monday, November 25, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. She was born October 3, 1922 in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of the Late E.C. and Helen nee Casselman Glans. She graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, IL, where she met her husband of 70+ years, Robert Hilliard, whom she wed on January 2, 1943 in Fort Monmouth, NJ while Bob was home on leave from WWII. Together they raised four children; Michael (Vicki) Hilliard of Canton, SD, Paul (Cheryl) Hilliard of Sugar Grove, Cary (Ginger) Hilliard of Carterville, IL and Sara (Brian) Frickenstein of Morrison, IL. She will also be missed by grandchildren Emily (Chris) Ninotta, Greg (Sarah Hazelwood) Frickenstein, Kelly Arce, Timothy (Roslynn) Hilliard, Ryan (Rachel) Hilliard, Laura (Mike) Luczkiw, two great-grandchildren, Emma and Nathaniel and 7 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Noren. Lois was a dynamo who was active in the PTA and scouts while her children were growing up and in later years served on church committees, served communion at nursing homes, was a YWCA Board member and belonged to the Hawthorn Book Club and several bridge clubs. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL with Rev. John Ouper officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Aurora. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego.
