John David Hiemenz, age 78, of Oswego, IL died peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Autumn Leaves of Oswego, IL He was born May 1, 1935 in Aurora, IL the son of the late Valentine P and Mildred E nee Testin Hiemenz. John was a member of St Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. He served his country honorably with the US Army. He was employed by Northern Illinois Gas Co as a service repairman from 40 years prior to his retirement in 1993. John is survived by his wife Marilyn J nee Kimpon Hiemenz, (whom he married on June 18, 1960 in Aurora, IL), two daughters Laura Oliver of Montgomery, IL, Linda (Randy) Tidaback of Oswego, IL, two sons John Hiemenz of Sandwich, IL, Dan Hiemenz of Romeoville, IL; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a sister Mary (Lowell) Williams of Sandwich, IL, two brothers Don (Mary Lou) Hiemenz, Bill (Jean) Teasau both of Oswego, IL, also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister/brother-in-law Bette (Walt) Dabmey. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL. Funeral will be from the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 to St Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
