HELEN M. GREENROD May 25, 1930 - July 6, 2019 On Saturday, July 6, 2019, this lady who walked each day by faith was called home by God to reap the rewards of her faith and perseverance. Helen was born May 25, 1930 in Goreville, IL. to Orville & Anna (Howell) Futrell. She was married to William "Bill" Greenrod on May 13, 1947 in Harrisburg, IL. Bill & Helen spent the next 63 years together until his death March 28, 2010. Helen was a kind and gentle person who never met a living soul she could not connect with and find some good in. She had a fulfilling 30-year career with the Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Montgomery. She enjoyed a wonderful retirement, with time being divided between her home in Sheridan and Yuma, AZ. She was a devoted mother to her surviving son Terry and his wife Wendy of Sheridan, a loving grandmother to Krista (Aaron) of Cable, WI., Travis (Deane) of Ottawa and she cherished her great grandchildren, Tyce, Turner and Trapper of Ottawa. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill Futrell of Red Wing, MN, Clyde "CR" (Donna) Futrell of Tyler, TX., Larry (Janet) Futrell of McLeansboro, IL. and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; a brother, Jack Futrell; a sister, Celia Futrell-Eubanks; a niece, Shelly Futrell and a nephew, David Futrell. Helen's request was to be cremated and a graveside committal service for family & friends will be held at the Sheridan Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11th with Pastor Velda Wright of the Sheridan United Methodist Church officiating.
