Harriet VAN Overmeiren, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL.

She was born on January 9, 1942, the daughter of Howard and Valore (nee Clay) Huntley.

Harriet enjoyed bowling at Parkside Lanes, she played mix league where she would bowl 172 averages, she went there every week with her husband Robert many years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, especially Harry Caray. She had a habit of decorating her home full of fresh and wildflowers that she would get from her garden and local florists. Harriet, for many years, liked to can pickled goods that she would give to family and friends. She wasn't much of a cook; however, she would batch make chop suey from time to time that her kids loved. When it came time for holiday season Harriet was the most loving, caring and giving woman, she always went above and beyond to make everyone feel special. She was the supervisor of her grandchildren who loved to call her 'Harry G'.

Harriet is a member of Bethany of Fox Valley United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert of 60 years; children Phil, Bethany Lynn, and Robert (Vicki), grandchildren Sydney, Reese, and Dancha; sisters Nancy (Bob) Anderson, Donna (Dan) Heiman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, and brother Norman.

All funeral services will be private.
