Hal N. Carr, 68 years old of Yorkville, IL died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 11, 1946 in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Hal J. and Mildred (nee Rolling) Carr.
Hal graduated East Aurora High School Class of 1964 and attended Aurora College. Hal was united in holy matrimony to Margaret Langston at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Aurora, IL on September 7, 1968.
He was an employee of Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and Ameritech for 32 years working in offices in Aurora, Geneva and throughout the Fox River Valley before retiring from the Chicago offices. He then developed the Computer Repair Technology Program for the Indian Valley Vocational Center (IVVC) in Sandwich, IL where he taught high school juniors and seniors. He retired from IVVC in 2007. After retirement he spent summers with his wife and family in Minocqua, WI, and enjoyed fishing, traveling and photography. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margaret of Yorkville, IL, daughter Melinda (Brian) Jahp of Serena, IL, son Anthony (Janel Oelstrom) Carr of Somonauk, IL, and two grandchildren, Abigail and Nicholas Jahp of Serena, two nieces, and five cousins.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY at 1801 S. Douglas Road in Oswego, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Yorkville. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
