Charles "Pete" Lee Greer Sr, 91, of Yorkville, formerly of Naperville died October 21, 2014 at Bickford Assisted Living, Oswego, Illinois. Charles was born February 25, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was the son of Seth and Judith (Jacobson) Greer. Pete was a proud Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S Army Air Corp. He flew 50 missions in a B-24 Liberator, receiving the Distinguished Unit Citation and Air Medal. Pete served as an assistant Scout Master of troop 100 in Naperville for many years. He loved gardening, camping, hunting, and fishing. He was an Electrical Engineer and retired from Underwriters Laboratory after 38 years. Pete is survived by his sister, Elaine Dalton, son Charles (Susan) Greer Jr., daughter Mindy (David) Constantine, 4 grandchildren, Eric (BreAnn) Greer, Candace (Paul) Hanson, Lee Constantine, and Stacey (Danielle) Constantine-Littrell, 6 great-grandsons, Ryan, Chase, Mason Greer, Drew and Will Hanson, Hunter Constantine. He is preceded in death by his parents Seth and Judith Greer, wife Mabel (Roberts), twin sister Adeline, brothers, Seth and Elton, and sisters Virginia and Marie. Services for Pete are private with Burial at Abraham Lincoln Nation Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Vitas Hospice or charity of your choice.
