Gordon Dean Meyer, age 85 of Somonauk formerly of Montgomery, IL. at rest peacefully on January 2, 2023, with his family by his side.

He was born September 5, 1937, in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, the son of the late Harry H. and Viola E. Lauderbach Meyer.

Gordon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Retired from the post office in Aurora, IL with 31 years of service.

He is survived by his children, JoAnne Nelson of Marseilles, IL, Tim (Lori) Meyer of Plano, IL, Rich Meyer of Sandwich IL, Toby Meyer of Sandwich, IL, Lori (Mike) Dennis of Sandwich, IL,; grandchildren Amy Figenbaum, Charlie Nelson, Stephanie Meyer, Ashley Dennis, Sarah Dennis; great grandchildren, Dakotah, Levi, Colter, Kilah Figenbaum, Grayson Dennis.

He was preceded by his wife Delores J. (June 30, 2018); son-in-law Dave Nelson; sisters Elaine Filner, Gloria Rekow; brothers Delbert, Arlen, Darrell Meyer.

Committal service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 West Hoff Road, Elmwood, IL 60421 in April 2023, follow our website for future date and time.
