Gordon R. "Doc" Lehnert, age 88, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at home in Oswego, IL. He was born on May 21, 1929 in Aurora, IL, the son of Anton and Olive Lehnert. Gordon proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion of Oswego. During his service to his country, he received the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal with 3 bronze camp stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and 2 OS Service Bars. He is survived by his children Michael (Judy) Lehnert of Aurora, IL, Roger (Jessica) Lehnert of Bowling Green, KY, Brian Lehnert of Aurora, IL, and Lori (Jim) Burbridge of Oswego, IL. His grandchildren Erik, Penny, Jeremy, Patrick, Steven, and Chris. His great grandchildren Laura, Harrison, Trevor, and Audra. His special friend and companion Norma Sampson. He was preceded in death by his wife Caryl Pessina Lehnert and his grandson Joseph M. Lehnert The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 4 – 8 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
