Gloria (Glo) Rios was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She passed away on December 21, 2023, at 9:21 a.m. in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by a room full of her loved ones.

Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her strength, courage, and resilience while facing life's challenges. Despite her hardships, she always maintained her sense of humor and found a way to sneak in a witty one-liner. Glo stayed strong until the very end. Glo was born to Benito and Natalia Sandoval on May 26, 1955, in Edinburgh, Texas. She spent most of her professional career until retirement as a Housing Manager with the Aurora Housing Authority. She enjoyed spending her spare time with family and friends and yelling at the Bears on TV.

Glo was preceded in death by her parents, Natalia and Benito Sandoval.

She is survived by and lives in the memories of her siblings Oralia (Jose Blanco) Aleman, Benito (Rosemary) Sandoval, Lilia (Oscar) Reyna, Robert (Norma) Sandoval, and David Sandoval, children Melinda (Salvador) Salinas, Edgar Rios Jr., and Marivel (Kevin) Frank, grandchildren Jordan Rios, Daniella Ruiz, Christian Ruiz, Eric Ruiz, and her twinky Natalia Salinas, and great-grandchild, Daniel Rios.

A heartfelt thanks go to the entire staff at Rush Medical Center Chicago for their professional care and tireless efforts in tending to Glo.

Glo was cremated according to her wishes, and a memorial service will be held for family and friends at Dunn Family Funeral Home, 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego, Il 60543, on December 27, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
