Glen Francis Grimm, 62, of Oswego, IL, passed away on March 1, 2026. Born in Chicago on November 17, 1963, Glen lived his life with humor, heart, and a deep love for his family and friends. He leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, stories, and memories that will continue to be shared for generations.
Glen was a proud and devoted father to Lauren GrimmLane (Jenna), Jackie Westman (Tyler), and Natalie Grimm. Of all the titles he held, "Grandpa" may have been his favorite. He absolutely adored his grandson, Oakley Westman, who brought him endless joy, laughter, and pride. He also loved his grand-puppies' slobbery kisses.
He was a beloved brother to Gaylyn Pollard and Greg Grimm, and a fun-loving uncle and cousin to many who could always count on him for a joke, a story, or a little harmless mischief. Glen was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dorothy Catherine Margaret and John "Bud" Grimm.
Born and raised in Chicago, Glen earned the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from St. Laurence High School & St. Xavier University before eventually planting roots with his former wife, Jeannie LaMarre, in Oswego, IL, where he built a life surrounded by friends, family, and community. He was a long-time member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego and served faithfully as an usher for many years - always greeting familiar faces with a smile, a handshake, and probably a wisecrack or two.
Glen loved being a dad and was incredibly proud of his princesses. He loved coaching them and being involved in their activities and was a long-time Commissioner of the Oswego Sugar & Spice Softball League. Whether on the field, in the stands, or helping behind the scenes, Glen was always there, cheering on his girls and their teammates, creating memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Glen never met a stranger and rarely missed a chance to make someone laugh. He loved a good joke (especially the kind that made people groan), was fiercely loyal to those he loved, and was the life of the party. He could often be found in one of his buddies' "bar garages," cheering on the Bears, White Sox or Blackhawks, enjoying good company, and sharing plenty of laughs. If there was a gathering, Glen was there and it was guaranteed to be a good time. He treasured time spent with family and friends and never passed up the chance to sit, talk, laugh, and just be together.
Some of his favorite memories were made with his family on outings and adventures. Glen loved taking his girls to the theater, creating traditions filled with music, laughter, and shared experiences. He spent many cherished summers at Indiana Beach and loved making trips to the Wisconsin Dells, building memories that his family will hold close forever.
He began his career with British Steel, then dedicated 20 years of hard work to Constellation Energy. Glen took pride in his work and in the friendships he formed along the way, earning the respect of coworkers who often became lifelong friends.
Glen's legacy is one of love, loyalty, humor, and a heart that was bigger than life. He will be remembered for his quick wit, warm spirit, and the way he made everyone feel like part of the family. Though he will be deeply missed, his laughter and love will continue to echo through every family gathering, shared story, and inside joke.
In true Glen fashion, he would want us to keep laughing, keep gathering, and take care of one another. He will be forever loved, always remembered, and never forgotten.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
