Gerard M. Knuth, age 68, of Montgomery, IL, peacefully passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 28, 1947, in Chicago, IL the son of William Clement and Margaret nee Holtfoerster Knuth. Gerry proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1966 to 1968 as a medical corpsman. He married his bride, Laura Clementz in October of 1970, and recently celebrated 45 years of marriage. Gerry worked for P/C Electric Company in Aurora, IL for over 30 years, having retired in June of 2006. He was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL and was involved in many charity events through his membership in the Knights of Columbus. Gerry loved all Chicago sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. He had a great love of music and his admiration for the Beatles has been passed down through his generations. He is survived by his wife Laura Knuth of Montgomery, IL, sons Gerard W. (Dianne) Knuth, Michael A. (Elizabeth) Knuth, granddaughter Alana Jane Knuth, brothers Bill (Doris) Knuth, Richard Knuth, Bernard Knuth, Martin (Maryellen) Knuth, Philip (Amy) Knuth, Raymond Knuth, sisters Deborah (Paul) Kulbartz, Margaret (Bill) Blonn and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL 60543.
