George A. Longfellow, Sr., age 62, of Oswego, IL died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL.  He was born June 28, 1952 in Danville, IL the son of the late Richard and Mary Jane nee Regan Longfellow. George served his country honorably with the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict; he was a member of St Anne Catholic Church and Oswego American Legion Post #675 both of Oswego, IL. During his travels for work and pleasure, George set foot in 49 out of 50 states. He never knew a stranger and had many friends. He loved his Green Bay Packers and Nascar. George delighted in bringing smiles to children (and adults) each year when he donned his Santa hat and suit. Besides his "Santa gigs" he could be spotted anywhere from the grocery store to the airport dressed as Santa and greeting people with a boisterous Ho Ho Ho! George is survived by his wife Vicki J nee Johnson Longfellow, a son George (Dawn) Longfellow, Jr. of Mahomet, IL, a daughter Sara (Eric) Carson of Oswego, IL, five grandchildren Sydney and Cameron Longfellow; Carter, Laura and Cooper Carson, a sister Kay Longfellow of Wellington, IL, four brothers Richard Longfellow of Dixon, IL, Henry (Candy Warf) Longfellow of Wellington, IL, Tim (Loretta) Longfellow of Normal, IL, Tom Longfellow of Las Vegas, NV, also by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Rosemary and Paula and a brother Tony.  Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY  1801 Douglas Road  Oswego, IL.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St Anne Catholic Church  551 Boulder Hill Pass  Oswego, IL.  Followed by military honors by the Oswego American Legion Post #675. Cremation will take place at American Crematory in Oswego, IL. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society  143 1st St Batavia, IL 60510 or St Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL.
