Genoveva M. Abad, age 77, of Plainfield, IL, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born March 25, 1944. Genoveva is survived by her husband and soulmate of 49 years Emmanuel Abad, children; Dennis (Irma) Abad, Angele (Chris) Cinto, Albert Abad, grandchildren; Gavin, Marisa, Sydney, Emerson, Charlie, Olivia, and her sister Fe. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters. Early in her career, Genoveva was trained as a nurse, then became a small business owner and served the community, where countless friends have fond memories of her beautiful spirit. She always cared for others and will always be remembered for her compassion and generosity. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Genoveva was happiest when she was around family and friends while traveling, fishing, dancing, cooking, hosting mahjong parties, and many more. As a loving wife, mom, and grandma; she was also a dear friend to everyone throughout the course of her life. She will be loved and cherished by all. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:00 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL 60543.
