Genevieve Mae Ross, age 39+, of Oswego, IL died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born in Oswego Township, IL the daughter of the late Charles and Velva nee Olmstead Heriaud.
Gen was a lifelong member of the Oswego Presbyterian Church, Lorraine Chapter 70 Order of the Eastern Star, Oswego American Legion Post #675 Auxillary, Oswego Women's Club, 19thCentury Club and the Kendall County Retired Teachers Association.
Genevieve attended the Wormley Country School and graduated from East Aurora High School. Upon graduation she attended Joilet Junior College and received a business degree. During WW2 she worked for the Secretary of Defense in a classified division. After raising her family she resumed her career with Field Enterprises where she achieved the position as District Manager, it was through this position she had the pleasure of meeting Sir Edmund Hillary and Astronaut Neil Armstrong. She was the owner/operator/broker of Ross Real Estate in Oswego, IL. Gen and Ralph owned a home in Colorado which she enjoyed every summer for many years.
Genevieve enjoyed her Bible study, golf, gardening, bridge, and was a beautiful seamstress. She never met a stranger and had an active social life.
Gen is survived by two daughters Cynthia (Dennis) Schoger of Buena Vista, CO, Mary Ann (George) Bucari of Lavonia, GA, son Jeff (Marcea) Ross of, Lake Zurich, IL; eight grandchildren Deanna (Kevin) Schoger-Nolan, Denise (Victor) Adan, Carolyn (David) Tinker, Margaret Bucari, Lawrence (Gale) Bucari, Elizabeth Bucari, Jennifer (Wayne) Walters, Jeffrey (Kendall) Ross; thirteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Ross, sister Ethel Butler, two brothers Raymond and Earl Heriaud.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 Noon at the Oswego Presbyterian Church 1976 Route 25 Oswego, IL. Burial will be at the Oswego Township Cemetery in Oswego, IL.
