Gary John Morse, age 72, of Montgomery, IL, went to the Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2026. He was born August 21, 1954 in Aurora, IL to the late John and Elizabeth nee Doemland Morse.

Gary was a lover of sports through and through. He coached many teams, was a baseball umpire for North Aurora, and never missed a Chicago Bears or Dallas Cowboys game. It was not uncommon for Gary to be heard passionately giving his own opinions to the referees. Gary also loved his community. He volunteered numerous years with his parish, St. Anne Catholic Church and with Meals and Wheels. Gary was a proud worker retiring from Caterpillar where he made many friends and memories.

The thing Gary loved the most was his family, especially his grandkids. No matter how far away they lived, Gary and his beloved wife Patricia would go and visit as frequently as possible. Gary was the anchor of the family, hosting and cooking annual meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings for extended family. Any event involving his family took the utmost priority in his schedule. A fond memory among the family is the many breakfasts at Grandma's Table. Gary was a regular who didn't even need a menu as their waitress would already know his order the moment he walked in. Another unforgettable part of Gary was his impressive driving skills that reminded people to thank the Heavenly Father when they arrived safely at their destination. Gary will be deeply missed as he left a fond memory with everyone he met.

Gary was survived by his wife Patricia nee Kennedy Morse, son Dan (Ami) Morse, daughter-in-law Debra Morse, Grandchildren Ahava, Courtney, Harmony, Asher, and Camryn Morse, brother John (Nettie) Morse, sister Cindy Morse, and last but most certainly not least, his cherished dog Buddy. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, son David Morse, sister Susan Neuenkirchen, brother Richard (Carol) Morse.

A memorial gathering will be held Monday, October 5, 2026 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
