GAIL V. MATISON May 3, 1934 - November 17, 2018 Gail Verene Matison, 84, of Mendota formerly of Sheridan passed Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Heritage Health in Mendota. Gail was born May 3, 1934 in Leland to Fernan & Edna (Casey) Jacobson. She was a dietary worker at the Sandwich Community Hospital for over 20 years. Gail was an avid sports fan, fisherman and loved the Chicago White Sox. At Comiskey Park on June 26,1952 Howard "Cute" Matison proposed marriage. The were joined in marriage October 19,1952 in Cook County. "Cute" passed April 15, 1982. She is survived by her two daughters, Sue (Gary) Baker of Earlville, Jennifer (Dale) Zolper of Mendota; four grandchildren, Chad (Kelly) Baker, Casey (Ryan) Stafford, Clint (Holly) Baker, Jordan Campbell; seven great grandchildren, Connor Baker, Katlyn Baker, Carson Baker, Ivan Stafford, Hudson Stafford, Henry Baker, Emma Campbell; three step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; a brother, Jimmie (Linda) Jacobson of Rice Lake, WI.; a sister, Donna Twait of Leland and her beloved dog Pee Wee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard "Cute" Matison and her son Billy Matison. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. noon Wednesday, November 21st with the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. noon at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd. in Sheridan. Howard Buckle, a long-time friend of Gail will officiate. Burial will be at the Sheridan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad baker, Kelly Baker, Casey Stafford, Ryan Stafford, Clint Baker and Holly Baker. Honorary pallbearer will be Jordan Campbell.
