Gail Laird, 79 of Oswego, IL sadly passed away on October 15, 2024 with her daughter Andrea by her side.
She was born June 21, 1945 in LaGrange, IL. Gail grew up in Western Springs, IL and attended Lyons Township High School, graduating class of 1963. She worked at Lions Club International, a charitable organization, in Oak Brook, IL as a secretary. Gail was a member of Christ Church of Oak Brook. She married her knight in shining armor Robert Joseph Laird on October 29, 1980. They enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, train rides to view scenic U.S. and their favorite place they visited many times was Hawaii. She was a big fan of football and never missed a game. Gail loved to cook, spend time with family and could make a mean vodka tonic. She loved to laugh and dance. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and step-mother. Gail enjoyed decorating for the holidays, collecting Christmas ornaments and always sent loved ones holiday and birthday cards. Gail was a very thoughtful woman who is survived by her daughter Andrea Laird Steele, sister Peggy Thomas, Granddaughter Rachel Elizabeth Steele-Groveau, step-sons David Joseph Laird, Michael Laird, nephews Rusty Thomas, and Jon Thomas. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Joseph Laird and her parents, Dwight and Inez Strain. Cremation was arranged per Gail's wishes.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM (Noon) until a funeral service at 4:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
