Fred Anthony Randazzo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on June 27, 2026, in the comfort of his home at the age of 94. Born in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, on May 30, 1932, Fred was the cherished son of the late Salvatore J. Randazzo and Freida Nee Lanasa Randazzo.

Fred's life was a tapestry woven with dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. Growing up in Chicago, Fred embraced the cultural richness of his Italian heritage, which remained a cornerstone of his identity throughout his life. His involvement in various Chicago Italian organizations served as a testament to his pride in his roots and his desire to give back to the community that shaped him.

A proud Army Veteran in the Korean War, Fred served his country with honor and distinction, embodying the values of courage and sacrifice. After returning from service, Fred continued to devote himself to pursuits that reflected his vibrant spirit and zest for life. Fred married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Fisher. Their marriage was a beacon of love and partnership, a testament to their profound connection and mutual respect. Together, they built a family filled with laughter and warmth, raising three sons: Joel (Susan) Randazzo , Fred Randazzo and Leonard Randazzo who inherited their father's kindness and integrity. Fred's heart swelled with pride as he watched his family grow. He adored his grandchildren, Nicholas (Joel/Susan), Freddie, Priscilla, Chance & Guy (Fred) and Anthony & Jonathan (Leonard). He felt joy in the antics and innocence of his great-grandchildren, Kayden Chickering, Kannon Martin, and Bradley Martin, Jr. (Priscilla). His legacy of love, wisdom, and humor will undoubtedly live on through them.

Fred was a man of varied interests, each reflecting a different facet of his character. He was a Chicago Golden Gloves Boxer, a testament to his love of sport and community spirit. He cherished his cigars and enjoyed them during reflective moments. He walked his faithful dog, Beau, through the neighborhood he called home. Whether playing solitaire or losing himself in the melodies of his trumpet playing, Fred found beauty in life's simple pleasures.

Though Fred has now joined his beloved parents and brother Sal Randazzo in eternal rest, his spirit remains a guiding light to those he leaves behind. Fred Anthony Randazzo lived a life full of love, laughter, and service. His memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will endure for generations.

A visitation for Fred will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. The funeral home is located at 1801 South Douglas Road in Oswego, IL 60543.

The funeral is Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Chapel Prayers begin at 9:15 at the Funeral Home in Oswego followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church located on 701 S. Eola Road Aurora, IL 60504.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Queen of Heaven Cemetery (Main Gate) 1400 S. Wolf Road Hillside, IL at 12:15pm to be escorted to Mt.
