Franklin H. "Frank" Gatton, age 77, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. He was born February 1, 1943 in Robinson, IL, the son of Virgil and Florence nee Hall Gatton. Frank proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1963 to 1967 as an Airman First Class. After his honorable discharge, Frank sought work at Caterpillar Tractor Company, retiring in 1998. Retirement did not last long as he worked for Fox Bend Golf Course, retiring from there just 3 years ago. In his spare time he was on the golf course – even achieving a hole-in-one three times over his golfing career. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Kathleen "Kathy" Gatton, sisters Lavina (Cecil) Riker, Lottie Shook, Karen Mitchell and a brother Wilmer Charles Gatton. Cremation was performed in accordance to Frank's wishes. Burial of his urn with full military honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, at a future date.
