Frank Julius
Nagel
Mar 2, 1944 — Jul 19, 2026
Frank J. Nagel, 82, left this world peacefully on July 19, 2026, at his residence in Plainfield, Illinois. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 2, 1944, Frank lived a life defined by dedication to his wife and loved ones.
Frank met the love of his life, Donna, at Northern Illinois University, while doing crossword puzzles. Sharing an incredible 58 years, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another, together, they built a beautiful family, raising their daughter Kristen (Steve) Parker and son Eric (Kelly) Nagel. Frank's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Rhett Parker, Noah Parker, Reeghan Parker, Bodhi Nagel, and Kai Nagel, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
Frank loved his time at Argo High, where he cherished his time spent playing trumpet in the marching band. As a history buff, he deeply enjoyed politics and collected political buttons, coins, and even Wheaties boxes. He and his beloved wife, Donna, enjoyed traveling to new destinations in his quest to visit all of the state capitals.
He is survived by his brother, James (Linda) Nagel; his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" (Doug) Black; and four nephews, all of whom will carry his spirit and sense of humor forward.
Frank is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna; loving parents, Chester and Louise Nagel; and his in-laws, Dietrick and Frances Schultz, who welcomed him into their family with open arms.
Frank leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will not be forgotten. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished friend.
Though his physical presence will be missed, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
