Forrest "Bud" Verdel Anderson Jr.

Born March 3rd, 1940, in Morris, IL Passed away peacefully with all his family on July 22nd at The Pavilion on Main in Sandwich IL.

Son of Forrest and Ruby (Hanson) Anderson Sr. Survived by his wife Shirley (Ness) of 57 years, daughters Debbie (Dennis) Ferguson and Jodi (Randy) Wilkinson, sisters Shirley (Martin) Myre and Carol Johnson, and his grandchildren Dennis, Dustin, Heather, Jessica and Brandon.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Forrest Anderson Sr. as well as Orville and Bruce Johnson and many aunts and uncles.

Bud married Shirley February 12th, 1966. He farmed for most of his life. He was a DeKalb seed corn dealer, the Big Grove Township Road Commissioner, and worked at the Menards Distribution Center for over 10 years. He was also an active American Legion Member and a member of the Newark Lutheran Church.

As a daily ritual, Bud enjoyed making coffee and talking with the early morning crew at the Newark BP.

Services will be held on August 5, 2023, at the Newark Lutheran Church, 101 East Liberty Street, Newark, IL 60541. The visitation will be from 9 AM-11 AM and the funeral will follow along with a luncheon. There will be a private burial at a later date.
