Everett A. Brue, 70, of rural Sheridan passed Wednesday evening, December 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Everett was born September 6, 1947 in Ottawa to Conrad & Arlene (Ness) Brue. He was joined in marriage to Sandra West on August 4, 1973 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Streator. Everett had farmed all his life starting in Verona then Plattville and finally Newark. Besides farming he was a lifelong brother of Operating Engineers Local #150. He served in the US Army from 1969 – 1970 as an E4 and had completed a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of Newark American legion Post #459 and Everett had always been very proud of his 100 % Norwegian ancestry & heritage.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Brue; his three children, Sherri (Jeff) Wendorf of Sandwich, Terri (David) Hunter of Hamilton, IL. David (Megan) Brue of Sheridan; his two grandchildren, Kashton Brue, Gentry Brue; three sisters, Virginia Olson of Morris, Constance Jenkins of Morris and Karen (Ron) Kyrouac of Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Myron Brue.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at noon on Wednesday, December 27th with Pastor Joe MacDonald officiating at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd. in Sheridan. On 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28th a procession will leave the funeral home for a 11:30 a.m. interment at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
