Evelyn Cook, age 83, of Sheridan, IL, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born December 7, 1937 in Ivesdale, IL, the daughter of Lowell and Anna (Stark) Durbin. Evelyn worked for Community Unit #2 School District as a bus driver for over 40 years. She was a Catholic CCD teacher at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 25 years and was a parishioner for over 60 years. She loved all children and enjoyed playing Bingo with friends and her sister Mary. She is survived by her 3 children, Kyle (Virginia) Cook of Marseilles, IL, Jody (Gayla) Cook of Niota, TN, Amy (Jeff) Kember of Sheridan, IL, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister Dorothy (Ed) Cox of Casper, WY and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Franklin Cook, daughter Theresa Cook, brother Joseph Durbin and sister Mary Williams. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 12:00 PM (Noon) until a funeral service at 2:00 PM at GABEL-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, 333 W. Church Street, Sheridan, IL 60551.
