Eugene Kosinski, age 81, of Oswego, IL, peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at his residence.
He was born July 21, 1942 in Chicago, IL, the son of Anthony and Helen nee Cius Kosinski.
Eugene graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago, class of 1961, then attended trade school for pattern making. After his training, Eugene joined the Pattern Maker's Union and began working for Universal Castings, retiring July 21, 2007. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL, where he was a member of the St. Anne Seniors. He loved to volunteer at the Kendall County food pantry, but his greatest love was traveling. He camped and traveled for 50+ years, having visited all of the United States and many Canadian Provinces. His favorite was spending a whole summer in Alaska. He was a proud member of the Dragon Wagon Camping Club. When not on the road, Eugene was a true home handyman, always with projects to work on. He had a flare for tinkering with cars, even getting an opportunity to drive a Corvette during his 80th birthday weekend. Eugene loved Science Fiction, and considered himself an avid Star Wars fan.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Betty Kosinski, children Debra (Michael) Cooke, Scott (Paige Paul) Kosinski, Kimberly (Jon) Malkosky, grandchildren Brad (Riley Erickson) Cooke, Cameron Cooke, Nicholas Kosinski, Matthew Kosinski, Christian Malkosky, Timothy Malkosky, Gina Malkosky, sister Arlene Kuizin and sister-in-law Donna Ballasch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Renee Heiden and father and mother-in-law Louis & Helen Ballasch and brother-in-law Louis Ballasch.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
Funeral Friday, July 26, 2024, 9:30 AM from Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory with chapel prayers then a procession to St. Anne Catholic Church 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL, 60543 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.
