Ernest A "HAWK" Scholz, age 77, of Oswego, IL died peacefully at his residence with his family at his side on Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born December 8, 1940 in Chicago, IL the son of the late August and Ella nee Goldschmied Scholz.
He had worked as a draftsman for many years at Castle Engineering Co and as a delivery driver for an optical company. He was a member of the Showman's League of America in Chicago, IL. He was an avid 16" softball player from the age of 14 up until his last game at 76 years of age. He loved all sports no matter what the shape or size of the ball being used. Hawk also loved sing motown on the neighborhood corner with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Patricia nee Terey Scholz, a daughter Lillian (Dismas) Hutti, step daughter Cheryl (Peter) Zinn, step son James (Lisa) Juszczyk, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister Frances Howaniec and a brother in law Toru Fujii. He was preceded in death also by a sister Lillian (Stanley) Rutkowski and sister in law Lynn Fujii.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1:00 PM until a memorial service at 4:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL. Cremation has taken place pre the wish of the family.
