Elma Jean Cramer, age 75, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She was born May 25, 1946 in Delhi, LA, the daughter of Walter and Candyce Parker. She married George Leroy Cramer on November 28, 1964. Surviving is her daughter, Dawn (Patrick) Halloran of Coal City, IL, and her three grandchildren: Rachel (Ryan) VanDuyne and Matthew Halloran (Chelsea Schultz) of Coal City, IL, John Halloran of Los Angeles, CA, and great-granddaughter, Reese VanDuyne. Also surviving are three brothers: Louis Dwayne Parker of Punta Gorda, FL, Royce Glenn Parker of Salem, OR, and Oliver Franklin "Buddy" (Laurinda) Parker of De Leon Springs, FL and one sister, Bonnie Ileen (Parker) Haisten (Larry Lewandowski) of Deltona, FL. Elma is also survived by a sister-in-law Beverly Parker of Gardner, IL. Elma leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and several cousins whom she loved dearly. Elma was a friend, dedicated co-worker, and caring neighbor who will be deeply missed. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother Walter Thomas Parker, Jr. Elma lived in Miami, FL until the age of twelve when her family moved to Illinois. She lived in South Wilmington, Gardner, and Reddick during her high school years. She graduated from Reddick High School with the class of 1964. Elma spent the past twenty years as an office manager/bookkeeper with a variety of companies. She was currently employed at Champion Wood Pallets in Aurora, IL. Elma was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly and cherished the time they spent together. She enjoyed taking day trips, driving along the Fox River, attending her grandkids sporting events, and wholeheartedly celebrating the holidays. "Grammy" was well known for her holiday decorations and Christmas Day scavenger hunts that would send Rachel, Matt and John to great lengths to find the last gift of Christmas! She was a caring person who faced recent health challenges head on, demonstrating admirable courage. She will be missed dearly. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a memorial service starting at 6:30 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL, 60543. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Elma's name to fight juvenile diabetes at JDRF.org or the American Heart Association at heart.org.
