Edward J. Maher, III, 77, of Oswego, IL passed on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He was born June 14, 1947, in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Edward J and Dorothy nee Lohmann Maher, II.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Aurora; IL and a graduate of the Oswego Citizens Police Academy where he was actively involved in community service. He was a proud alum of Fairfield University and a lifelong New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his daughter Megan (Tom) Frankino, two sons Edward (Brie) Maher, Patrick (Shannon) Maher, five grandchildren Camden Frankino, Jack Maher, Colin Maher, Emerson Maher, Brooks Maher, two sisters Fran (Daniel) Donovan, Patricia Rooney. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia nee Greene Maher.

A Celebration gathering will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Aurora; IL from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 A.M.
