Edward Jacob Barkes Sr, age 76, of Montgomery, IL died on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Seasons Hospice Naperville, IL. He was born February 23, 1942 in Chicago, IL son of the late George Richard and Lucille Harriet nee Lee Barkes. He was employed at Caterpillar in Aurora, IL for 34 years prior to his retirement in 2000. Ed's life passion was building cars and motorcycles, as well as winning many trophies from countless car shows. He is survived by his wife Sharon P. nee Johnson Barkes (whom he married July 24, 1996 in Las Vegas, NV) two sons Edwards J Barkes Jr. Robert (Tracey) Barkes, step-daughter Alisa (Danny) Battles, two step sons, Dennis (Erika) Jorgenson, TJ (Krissy) Jorgenson, three grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother Sonny Barkes, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother in infancy, sister, Margie Barkes, and brother Richie Barkes. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM until a funeral service at 12 Noon at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd. Oswego, IL.
