Edith Louise nee Dillow Overstreet, a beacon of boundless love and devotion, passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 86. She joined her beloved husband, Walter Wayne Overstreet, known affectionately as Wayne, in eternal rest. Wayne had departed suddenly in 1988, leaving Edith with cherished memories of the love of her life. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Diane (Frank) Herrmann and Arch (Lynn) Dillow.

Edith was an extraordinary woman who lived a life filled with joy and adventure. She held family at the center of her heart, devoting herself to the well-being of her children: Doug (Terri) Overstreet, and Pam Herout, six grandchildren: Greg (Megan) Overstreet, Jessica Overstreet, Michelle Herout, Jennifer (Jesse) Perez, Lou Herout (Charles) Hicks, Heather (Erick) Brewer, seven great-grandchildren, and even those she considered family through the bonds of friendship.

An exceptional listener, Edith made everyone feel heard and valued. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond conversation, as she passionately pursued her love for crafts, mastering each project she embarked upon. Her homemade cakes were legendary, earning professional praise, and she took great pride in passing on her culinary skills to her beloved grandkids.

Edith was more than just a matriarch; she was the glue that held her family together. Her love for life was infectious, and she encouraged all to embrace it fully. She had a zest for adventure, relishing the opportunity to travel and imparting wisdom to those who were fortunate enough to share in her experiences.

Through life's challenges and triumphs, Edith remained an unwavering pillar of support. Her optimism in the face of adversity was a source of strength and inspiration for all who knew her. She possessed the remarkable ability to fix anything that broke and maintained an endearing ability to laugh at herself.

Edith was a woman of deep faith and cherished her regular attendance at church. Her faith not only shaped her character but also guided her in accepting people with open arms, faults and all, and she offered her unwavering support to help them become better versions of themselves.

One of Edith's greatest gifts was her ability to bring joy into the lives of those around her. She was, without a doubt, the best grandmother that has ever existed, making Christmas magical and ensuring each family member felt special.

In her final year, Edith was fortunate to have Donnie as her caretaker, who not only assisted her but also became a trusted friend. Donnie's care and compassion made a significant difference in Edith's life, allowing her to live with dignity and grace.

Edith Louise Overstreet leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and boundless compassion. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and all who were blessed to know her. She touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed.
