Drew Suk Hoon
Simmer
Jun 7, 1980 — Jun 26, 2026
Wednesday
Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory
3:00 - 7:00 pm (Central time)
A beloved uncle, brother, and son, Drew Suk Hoon Simmer passed away from complications related to late-stage cancer. He is survived by his parents, Robert L Simmer and Beverly A. Eccles; brothers York (Kimberly), Todd, and Grant (Daniel); sister (Julia); nephews, Max and Parker; niece Ashley (Jashon); and grandnephew, Jaire. Selfless and kind, Drew was a steady presence in the lives of his nieces and nephews, generous with his time and love.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Drew was adopted with two of his brothers to Gurnee, IL on January 23, 1986, where he met his parents and youngest brother. He graduated from Voorhees High School in Lebanon, NJ in 1998. He traveled across the US before returning to the Chicagoland area.
He served as a distribution manager at Saddle Creek Logistics Services, where he worked since 2017. Drew had a fulfilling career in logistics, bringing his attention to detail and technical skills to work. During his time at Saddle Creek, he was known for his dedication and loyalty.
Most notably, Drew will be forever remembered for his patience and willingness to always listen and care for his nephews and niece. He was an integral part to their lives. His love knew no bounds as he played an active role. Drew's influence will forever live on through them.
We're so happy he spent his final years returning to South Korea and traveling with his oldest brother and his family. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, laughter, and affection for family.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at visitation at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 South Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543, on July 1, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. -7:00P.M. In lieu of flowers, family and friends should donate to a charity of their choosing, if they wish.
