Douglas Holliday Moews, age 92, of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born July 19, 1929 in Spring Valley, IL, the son of the late August C. and Ann (Holliday) Moews. He was baptised and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Prior to his retirement in June of 1990, Douglas had been employed in the Oswego Community School District as Principal of Oswego High School, where he later also served as a science teacher and athletic director. He served his country honorably with the USMC. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Thelma Z. Moews; and a son, DIrk D. (Barbara) Moews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Moews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL 60543.
