Dorothy Delores Knodel age 98, of Oswego, IL passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

She was born December 5, 1924, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Earl F. and Hazel McKenna Swanson. She was married on December 8, 1945, to Allen R. Knodel for nearly 48 years.

Dorothy devoted her life to her family. She was the loving mother of four, devoted grandmother of nine and joyful great grandmother of 13. Upon their retirement, Dorothy and Al moved to Mt. Morris, IL, where she was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Morris, IL. After Allen's death, she remained in Mt. Morris until she was 91 years old. At that time, she moved in with her daughter, Linda, where she enjoyed her final years spending time with family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by all four of her children, Paul (Susan) Knodel of Greenfield, WI, Dayle (Richard) Morrissey, of LaGrange, IL, Earl Knodel of Wilmington, IL, and Linda (John) Wallin of Oswego, IL and her daughter-in-law, Laurie Knodel, of Des Plaines, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband Allen and her granddaughter Kathleen Marie Morrissey Erickson.

Cremation rites have been accorded and she will be interned with her husband Allen, and parents at Ridgewood Memorial Park at a later date.
