Dorothy Kirchner, age 84, of Oswego, IL. passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 24, 1932 in Chicago, IL. the daughter of the late Albert and Angeline (Slowiak) Klocek. Dorothy graduated in 1950 from Murray F. Tuley High School in Chicago, IL. Shortly after high school, she had worked as a key punch operator for the Oscar Mayer Co. in Chicago, IL. until she was swept off her feet by a fellow co-worker (William Kirchner) in which they were married at the St. Fedelis Church in Chicago, IL. on May 8, 1954. She is survived by her husband William H Kirchner, three sons John (Bonnie) Kirchner, David (Cathi) Kirchner, James (Julie) Kirchner and nine wonderful grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son Michael Kirchner, a sister Mary Szatko, three brothers Edmund, John and Norbert Klocek. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY- 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM, St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL.
