Dorothy Abens, 96, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Aurora, IL, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. She was born 2nd of 8 children on December 30, 1919 the daughter of Philip A. and Margaret nee Frieders Miller. She attended St. Nicholas Grade School and graduated from Madonna High School, class of 1937. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church since 1954. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for Pence's Floorcovering for over 29 years. After retiring in 1979, she worked at Carsons on Lake Street and volunteered for many years at Mercy Hospital in Aurora, IL. She is survived by her children David (Beverly) Leick of Hilton Head Island, SC, Sharon (Tom) Anderson of Bristol, IL, grandsons Greg (Krissy Middleton) Anderson of Bristol, IL, Ray ( Michelle Seifrid) Anderson of Sandwich, IL, brothers Albert (Betty) Miller of Aurora, IL & Philip Miller of FL, and sister Louise Kuch of Batavia, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mother Margaret in 1940, Father Philip in 1964, husbands Ray Leick in 1970 and Clarence Abens in 1995, sisters Rosemary Schaedler in 2007, Clare Kegerreis in 2013, brothers Richard & Leslie Miller in 2008 and her very dear friend and companion Jacques Toussaint in 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, IL 60560. Burial will follow at Mt.
