Doris E. nee Hunt Stevenson, age 92, of Yorkville, IL, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Kind Hands Senior Home in Yorkville, IL. Born November 16, 1928 to Coyne and Luella Hunt in southern Missouri. She attended Copley Hospital Nursing School in Aurora, IL and worked at Copley Hospital and Yorkville School District #115. In her spare time she played cards, loved to tend her garden and visited friends throughout the neighborhood. She was a member of Helmar Lutheran Church in Newark, IL. She was also a member of Copley Nursing Alumni, and volunteered at the Kendall County Food Pantry. She married Robert O. Stevenson on January 1, 1950. They farmed together in rural Yorkville, IL. They raised four daughters; Patsy (Jeff) Mathre, Nancy (Doug) Knudson, Lou (Scott) Riemenschneider, and Beth (Cas) Ries and a son Robert Coyne. Doris is survived by her children, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and one brother James Hunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert O. Stevenson, a sister and a brother. A private service was held at Helmar Cemetery in Newark, IL. Memorials may be sent to Helmar Lutheran Church, 11935 Lisbon Road, Newark, IL 60541.
