Doris Jeanette Hayton

Doris Hayton, 85, of Oswego, IL passed away exactly how she lived her life, in her own way on

her own time, at Bickford of Oswego surrounded by her family on September 29, 2024.

She was born on April 24, 1939 to Charles and Hazel (Dunkley) Irwin in Haverhill, NH. Doris was raised

in North Haverhill, NH where she met the love of her life, Jim Hayton. After graduating from

Haverhill Academy in 1957, she moved to Aurora, IL. She was then reunited and married to Jim.

They soon settled in Oswego, where they started their family. Doris worked as Vice President

for Oswego Community Bank for many years, was a member of Yorkville Trinity Church, and

always an active member of the community. She volunteered and donated her time to many

charitable organizations – Hesed House, Beecher Center, and her church just to name a few.

Doris was a strong, kind, loving and generous person. She was a woman of her word who could

always be counted on to lend a helping hand. She was someone you could confide in and was an

exceptional listener. Her guidance was invaluable. Doris was a woman of faith, living her life in

accordance with her faith. In her spare time, Doris loved to bake, garden, and spend time with

her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Above all, she loved her family and friends deeply

and touched so many lives.

of West Hollywood, CA, and Cindy Ohse (Bill) of Plano, IL; her grandchildren Stephanie

Modaff (Dan) of Millington, IL, Kristin Beringer (Eddie) of Yorkville, IL, Alex Cole of

Hinckley, IL, and Tara Ohse Newcomer of Yorkville, IL; her precious great grandchildren Elle

and Adalyn Modaff, Alayna and Rudy Beringer, Olivia Newcomer, and Skyla Ohse. She is also

survived by her sister Lillian Brooks of Lisbon, NH; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Edie

Hard (Denny), Pam Hutchinson (Jay), Bill Hayton (Pat), Carolyn Besch (Cliff), Sharon Konen,

Debbie Pearce (George) all of Aurora, IL, and Jerry Hayton of Sandwich, IL; along with many,

many dear nieces and nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim Hayton, her loving son Joe Hayton, and

her grandson Chad Ohse. She is also preceded in death by her parents Charles and Hazel Irwin;

"Benny" Irwin; sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Reginald Smith; sister Barbara Irwin;

We will miss her more than words can express but she will forever live in our hearts.
