Donald W. Madura, age 79, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Don was born on May 25, 1939 in Chicago, and was the son of the late Stanley W. and Marie (Pinkos) Madura.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Charlene J. (Heerdt) Madura; daughters, Sandra (Danny) Zeigler of Big Rock, and Kristie Madura of Naperville; daughter-in-law-, Tracy Madura of Bolingbrook; grandchildren: Emily Zeigler, Haley Madura, Sarah Zeigler and Charlie Madura; brother Richard (Ursula) Madura of Hillside; brother-in-law, Leslie (Patricia) Heerdt of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
Don was a small-business owner, long-standing member of Chicago Graphic Arts Local 245, and a master printer and color specialist. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks and sometimes the Bulls. He loved being around friends and family, going for a ride, a good meal, cheering on his grandchildren through their many adventures, the challenges of fishing and Wheel of Fortune, and, beating everyone at 10,000.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Joseph W. Madura; father and mother-in-law, Clarence W. and Delia (Prince) Heerdt; brother-in-law Ken Heerdt and nephew Dan Heerdt.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 22 from 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 23 at 12:00 PM at St. Katherine Drexel Church, 8S055 Dugan Road, Sugar Grove, IL followed by a luncheon with Don's family at a nearby restaurant.
Don's family greatly appreciates the care and support provided to him and them by the doctors, nurses and all staff at Rush-Copley Hospital and the Cancer Center.
