DONALD "DONNIE" S. HARTMAN June 12, 1958 - September 23, 2015 Donald Scott Hartman, 57, of Newark died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Donnie was born June 12, 1958 in Aurora to Donald & Patricia (Lee) Hartman. He married Peggy Rogers September 24, 1983 at the House of God at Mooseheart. He had grown up in Aurora and he & Peggy moved to Newark 12 years ago. At a very early age he worked in the family business, Hartman's Supermarket, Hartman's Christmas Trees and Hartman's Pools & Spas for 45 years. For the past 10 years he had also been a local truck driver. He always found great joy in being with family & friends, boating, riding his motorcycle and gardening. Donnie is survived by his wife Peggy; his daughter, Tracy (Terry) Gentile of Naperville; his two sons, Jason Hartman of Sheridan, Zach (Ashley) Hartman of Newark; a granddaughter, Hannah "George" Gentile; his mother Patricia Hartman of Aurora and a sister, Kim Hartman of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sherri Hartman. A gathering of family & friends to celebrate Donnie's life will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3rd at the Newark American Legion, 606 Ottawa Rd, Newark.
