Donald Edwin Anderson Jr., of Plainfield, IL, age 64, unexpectedly passed away on February 7, 2023.

He was born in Slayton, Minnesota on December 16, 1958, the son of Donald Edwin Sr. and Janet Anne nee Smith Anderson.

Donald graduated from Chandler-Lake Wilson High School in 1977. After high school he pursued a career in construction. They moved to Naperville, IL in 1988 and then to Plainfield, IL in 1998.  He was a skilled carpenter and owned his own business for almost 25 years. Everyone knew Don by the pickup he drove- his old faithful grey Chevy truck. Don could fix anything and would always show up when someone needed him. Once you were his friend you were always his friend. Don loved his family, his dog Tillie, his John Deere lawn tractor and riding his motorcycle. He was a renaissance outdoorsman who enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, and riding ATV's. He taught his daughter Lindsey everything he knew and never missed a school event or softball game.

On September 15, 1984, he married Karlene Aeikens in Benson, Minnesota, they enjoyed 38 years together.

Don is survived by his loving wife Karlene, devoted daughter Lindsey Anderson (Bill Price) of Nashville TN; caring mother Janet Anderson, of Slayton MN; dearest siblings Michelle (Kerry) Malmquist of Pequot Lakes, MN and Randy (Keri) Anderson of White Pigeon, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Also his father and monter-in-law, Kenny and Janice Aeikens of Willmar, MN; Brothers-in-law Keith (Julie) Aeikens of Annandale, MN; and Kelly (Ann) Aeikens of Benson MN.

Preceded in death by his father Donald Anderson Sr.

He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. until time of memorial service at 4:30 P.M. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543.
