It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis J. Krob Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on July 28, 1941, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Dennis was the cherished son of Joseph and Helen Krob.

His journey through life was marked by deep faith, unwavering love for his family, and a passionate spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Dennis was a devoted husband to Charmaine (nee Gasparas) Krob, with whom he shared almost 60 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Dennis leaves behind his loving children: daughter Dawn, married to TJ Schindler; daughter Jennifer, married to Morry Lanera; son Dennis Jr., married to Jackie Krob; and son Douglas, married to Vicky Krob. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and had the joy of welcoming a great-granddaughter into the world last year, a testament to the enduring legacy of love he leaves behind.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents, his granddaughter Cortney Schindler, and his brother Donald Krob. He is survived by his brothers Richard and David Krob, who, along with Dennis's family, will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.

A man of intellect and curiosity, Dennis pursued his studies at Christian Brother's College, majoring in Physics. His time there was marked by his inquisitive nature, culminating in a memorable incident with his best friend Klez, when he almost blew up the physics lab-a classic story Dennis loved to share.

A devout Catholic, Dennis was a dedicated member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church for over 50 years, where he found solace, community, and strength through his faith. His spiritual devotion was matched by his enthusiasm for life and his zest for adventure.

Dennis was a fierce competitor and passionate athlete, known for his prowess in 16" softball and his dedication as a coach in both basketball and baseball. An avid fan of all Chicago sports teams, he celebrated victories and defeats with unwavering loyalty and a true sportsman spirit.

As a VP, Dennis spent much of his life traveling the world. With a heart full of wanderlust, he shared his love of travel with Charmaine embarking on 26 cruises, with the Caribbean holding a special place in his heart. Yet, despite his travels, he found tranquility and joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending cherished moments with his family.

Dennis was a social butterfly, a warm soul whose presence lit up any room. He had an innate ability to make all people feel welcomed and valued, a gift that endeared him to those from all walks of life.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 3:00 PM - 5PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. For information: 630/554-3888 or www.dunnfamilyfuneralhome.com
